The Supporter, the Mainport Ash, Mainport Elm & Mainport Oak are joining the Follow the Fleet list of vessels in 2009. These ships are Seismic Support vessels. They supply the Seismic Vessels they support with food provisions, seismic equipment & fresh water.

During Seismic operations, the Seismic Vessels tow a large seismic cable through the water, this cable detects minerals such as oil and gas far below the seabed. When this is happening the support vessels have to make sure that cable does not get caught in fishing nets and warns other vessels in the area to steer clear of the operation.

These vessels are also capable of towing the Seismic Vessels in an Emergency.
